both. I have ornaments from when I was a baby. And I am sure that I will get a new one this year from my wife.

Old ornaments! They have memories and help with the idea of tradition : )

We have both and get a few new ones each year.

Mostly older ones. Still have a few from when I was born (so they're three-and-a-half decades old). The sad thing about the older ornaments is that they fall apart or break through simple wear and tear, and you just can't bring yourself to replace them because of sentimental value.

I do get one or two new ones every other year, either by something calling out to me or given as a gift. I'm tempted to get an ornament display tree because my own collection has more ornaments than a three foot tree (my own, not family's) can hold.

I have all my old ornaments from when I was a kid but they overrun the tree now and are breakable. We have all (relatively) new ornaments on the tree now, plus the snowflakes I bought when I bought my own condo. We'll probably keep using these until the kids are a bit older and then start putting their ornaments on the tree.

Mostly old ones but I will buy new ones if I really like them.

A mix of both!

I don't have any for myself right now, but my mother has about a thousand. Our tree is a mix of old ornaments and new ones.

I still have ornaments from my childhood and the ornaments that are added new are hand made by local artists.
