Question for those with a PRE LIT Christmas Tree. Are you tossing it if the lights don't work?

We have THREE trees in the attic where lights have burned out and we cannot seem to find the culprit lighting to make it work. They are either half lit or one of three strings is on.

We have decided to trash these old bulb artificial trees and see if we can find a safer....will never burn out, LED tree on sale today....day after Christmas.

Anyone else have a "burned out" light string on a pre-lit tree that cannot be "fixed"? Do you try and RESTRING IT yourself or are you getting a new tree? If new, are you getting LEDS? If you are restringing, are you using LEDS???

All the new pre-lit trees have the thing where if one burns out, the rest stay lit. Thats what we have, but if it ever stopped working, we'd probably throw it out. But if we we're kinda broke that year, I'd just add extra lights over the old ones.
