Should Candy Canes be red and white?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
They have all kinds of colors now, and deviate from the original red and white (which were that color for a reason). Do you enjoy the multi colors or do they just strike you as "not quite right"?

It's all good, as long as the colors kind of match what you'd expect from taste

Yes, agreed! But I love red and white best; they're classic.

I much prefer the fruity type rather than the peppermint ones.

I like all of the colors, but you have me curious, why were they originally red and white?

I like all the colors, especially since like Huff above, I like fruity ones better than the classic peppermint ones.

I'd assume because that's the "Christmasy" colors. Santa wears red and white, so maybe that's why. I read somewhere that they are shaped like a shepherd's cane for religious symbolism...I don't know.

Christmas isn't my holiday, but I like all kinds of candy canes, from traditional red and white to multicolored.
