Do/would you tell your kids about Santa? Act as if he is real? Or do you prefer they know the truth?

I think the story of Santa is a fantastic one. I love that my kids believe in that magic.

i think that is great for children´s to have this fantasy a while sure they´re going to find the true someday but it´s so nice they have this cute tradition in their childhood i don´t think there´s nothing wrong about it

I haven't really decided yet.
I think I want them to believe, but at the same time, I feel bad for lying. And I wouldn't want them to be like my sister and still believe in Santa at 11 years old.

No, I probably won't. I would feel bad for lying to my future children.

Santa is real. My mom says as long as you believe he will bring you a present. He hasn't let me down yet. After the birth of my first child my mother did say "you do realize you have to be Santa for your own children, right?" I don't see this as lying. I believe it shows the power of giving without getting credit for it. Every time you give a gift anoynomously, you ARE Santa!

I go with the whole magical story of santa up until someone ruins it and tells them otherwise. its a great way to make them behave..hehehe.but once they are old enough and know otherwise I explain the true meaning of christmas.

My child believes in santa. At first I felt guilty lying about it, but after seeing how happy it makes her those thoughts have been pushed to the back of my mind. It's the sweetest thing seeing a kid excited about santa

My children (4 year old twins) know that santa isn't real. I just don't like the whole idea of santa being related to Christmas. For my family, Christmas is a religious holiday. I don't have a problem with parents who tell their kids otherwise though.

I learned the truth about Santa from my father when I was five. I'm kind of a pragmatist like my dad, but I haven't yet found the heart to destroy my daughter's image of Christmas. She's five this year; I'll probably giver her until seven.
