Do you remember the national morose and sadness that lasted several weeks after the attacks of 9/11? Do you still feel any sadness specifically knowing the date? Will you be taking any time to watch the Memorial Service on TV? (I am doing it now, as I write).
Will you take some time today, 9/11/13 to watch any of the 9/11 Memorial TV shows or specials?

I will always feel sad about 9/11, and I don't need to watch those scenes of devastation on TV every year, as they're already ingrained in my head.

I was there in real life. I don't need to relive it every year.

I watched some of the memorial on the news, but didn't go out of my way to. It happened, and I remember it well, but at the same time life moves on.

I used to watch it. I don't now. I have a cousin who worked in one of the towers. He luckily wasn't there that day. He is one of only a handful of people that worked for his company to survive the attack. It's hard for me to watch because every time I see something it reminds me that he might not be here today if he had gone to work.

Ah, you can't go through life like that. One hundred years ago, the majority of us would have died in infancy and none of us would be here. There are too many circumstances in life where one could perish, just be thankful he called out that day or had to be somewhere else for the time being. He's here with you now and that's all that matters.

What I remember the most about that day was my drama-rific sister calling every five minutes, "are you okay, are you okay, OMG we live near the CDC are we next?! OMG OMG OMG OMG". Had it not been such a huge catastrophe I would have hung up on her multiple times. (I was at work.)
