Growing up, we always had a BBQ with family, but now, we try to go camping. I was wondering what everyone else did?

memorial day to me was a day i would go and visit my grandfathers grave. he died of cancer and was a vetern of WWII. im proud of him, and love him very much. i also miss my grandfather terribly.
i normally go to his grave, with a cup of coffee in my hand and sit there until it's gone because he loved coffee, and i used to drink it with him when i was a child, it just helps me remember the happy times we had together.

BBQ time! I just love the smell of bbq outside.

@Shunskitten, wow that sounds really special. I never really had a grandpa growing up because they've passed away before I was born. =[

Camping or a family bbq.

We're starting a new tradition - my son leaves for the Air Force in June - so we're having a party in his honor. We couldn't be more proud of his decision to serve our country.

My family has never really had any, since there is no one remotely connected to the military in my family and extended family.

We used to go camping or have a family cook out. We don't really do much of anything now though.

Thank you for sharing! What a wonderful way to remember those we have lost and the amazing lives they lived.
