I said other, because there are only single-answer options, and I like more than one. I love my cats...I REALLY love cats. They're my favorite animal. But as pets, I also love mice. In fact, we have a mouse now. She just had babies (she was pregnant when we adopted her) and we might even keep one of the babies if there is a girl in the mix.
I do like dogs too, but I'm very particular about dogs. I don't care for dogs that jump, unless they're big dogs and can put their feet on your shoulders vs bounce up and down, which hurts my legs, and I'm not a fan of excessive barking. My parents have this little dog, jack russell terrier/beagle mix, and she has the most high-pitched bark, and barks at EVERYTHING...and doesn't stop. She isn't trained (they claim dogs can't be trained without abuse...funny how MY dog was trained and I never even scolded him, just rewarded for good behavior and ignored him when he was being bad) and she's really annoying. My parents are staying with my hubby and I til they get their house fixed up by this fall, and their little dog is driving me nuts...
I also keep fish as pets and while they aren't 'fun' in the sense that animals you can hold and snuggle are, they're cool to watch, and I love feeding them and watching them zoom up for their food. They can also be pretty, too! And have unique personalities believe it or not.
I had 6 rats at one point, and they're fun, easy to train to do tricks and use a litter box, and very sweet and smart, but also harder to care for than mice (so I prefer mice to rats for that reason alone).
I like lizards and snakes and tarantulas as well.
I like all kinds, really (:

Couldn't make it without my dog. I also feed the cats that come by the house, they are cute and some are very clever
