What's your favorite holiday song?

Contributor: Jul!a Jul!a
I know everybody has different holiday songs they love listening to for various reasons. I personally prefer some of the more non-traditional songs like She's a ho-ho-ho Merry Christmas by Patent Pending or Don't Shoot me, Santa by the Killers, but I like a few of the good old classics too like I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas.

What are some of yours?

I used to love christmas songs.. until I started working retail. Now I get very annoyed by them because I hear them from November 1st on.

Thankfully, none of the Frank Sinatra Chistmas album plays at work so that is my wrapping music.

Adeste Fidelis is my favorite traditional song.

Non traditional, I do love I Am Santa Claus by Bob Rivers. Actually, I really like a lot of his Christmas songs

So I'm not proud to admit this, but I will. Naughty Naughty Christmas by Danger Danger. 2nd favorite would have to be Santa Claus Wants Some Lovin' by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

There's a special place in my heart for "Do You Hear What I Hear?"

I don't listen to Christian music usually, but the song "Christmas Shoes" by Newsong just makes me cry every time.

I like the traditional one, Silent Night, Little Drummer Boy, etc. But I really like the Chipmunks Christmas songs. I can't help it! I also have a couple of Celtic Christmas CDs I listen to every year. They don't sound Christmasy at all, but I've been listening to them every year since I was nine, so they are very Christmas to me.

My husband and I absolutely love the music by the Rat Pack. As a matter of fact, our favorite Christmas album is a collection of their Christmas songs. Frank, Dean, and Sammy did it best!

I also love "Do You Hear What I Hear," "O Holy Night," and "Gloria in Excelsis Deo," as a couple of other people have mentioned.

I need to break out more of my collection to listen to it.

I have to hear Christmas music every day from October to the end of December... So I pretty much hate Christmas music.

I did find an awesome mix of Christmas music and Nine Inch Nails. It makes me laugh every time I hear it.

BTW, there is swearing in the audio clip, if that makes a difference for anyone.

In high school choir we sang this absolutely gorgeous song; it was called " The Three Kings" (not "We Three Kings"). It was a cappella (probably since I was in the A Cappella Choir) and one of the most beautiful things I've heard.
We would do this big community performance annually in a church with great acoustics. What a surprise, I had strep throat and was unable to do it. It still makes me so sad to this day.
I found it on YouTube: link
