Which would you be less likely to do? (Mothers/Fathers day toys)

Contributor: Ryuson Ryuson
I just saw the front of Eden which is advertising purchasing sex toys for Fathers Day. Now I know that a lot of the demographic will get their husbands (who are fathers) gifts with this sale, but I caught myself having a strange thought:

It grosses me out a LOT more to think of getting my dad a toy than my Mum. This is probably some strange, sexist conception I have, but I just wanted to make this poll for fun. (Also, I am in no way implying that everyone has one parent of both genders! No judging, just an interesting poll!)

Which would you be less likely to do?

I know my dad wouldn't want one. Unless it was a gag gift.

My father is more in my life than my mother, and no, I can't see giving him a gift. Sex is sort of something we avoid talking about as much as possible.

I'd be mortified to give them sex toys, etc.

I would normally say that both were equally unlikely, but since my father died years ago, that does give the advantage to my mother...

My mother and I are more open about sexual things than my step dad and I. I would be willing to get something for both of them, but it would be more likely for me to get something for my mom.

I don't talk to my dad, thus I wouldn't give him anything. I'd buy my mom a sex toy if she were interested in getting one.

I would get one for my dad as a joke/gag gift.

I would never even consider it. Gag gifts would offend them, and sex toys of any kind are considered "taboo", "tacky", "unnecessary", and "bad sex" in my house. My parents are extremely conservative, and on the judgmental side of the spectrum. If they even knew I had an eden account, let alone made an order, they would flip their shit and tell me to reevaluate myself and my faith. Never ever ever ever hahahaa oh god, even thinking about it makes me cringe....(shudder)

While I did visit a toy shop with my mother once - it was a "girl's day out" with my friends and I - I don't think I'd get either parent such a thing as a gift. "Happy father's day, have a plastic vagina masturbator!" just doesn't work out in my head.

Um, no. I wouldn't buy anything sexual for either parent.

No to both of them. I will not be getting any sex toys for my parents.

Sex is never a topic to be discussed with my dad but my mom and I are really open with each other (and my step dad too I guess). I might maybe very slightly possibly consider getting a toy for my step dad but never my dad. My mom would be totally psyched if I got her one!

If I knew my dad, even if he had been a part of my life I would be much more unlikely to get him a sex toy.
My mom though, I get her toys whenever I see one she'd like. xD

I thought about this when I saw the sale. I don't think I would ever have _that_ close of a relationship with my dad as to buy him a sex toy for father's day, even as a gag gift. That sort of relationship is just beyond me because of what I'm used to, but whatever, I wouldn't judge anyone who did. I kind of assumed most people will be purchasing for their significant other/spouse.

I've openly discussed sex with both my parents, but I really cannot see getting either of them a toy.

my mom isn't with us any longer and I can't see getting my dad one but even if mom was here, there isn't much 9or no) chance I'd get her one either..they would both probably have massive coronaries if I did and they wouldn't get to use them at all anyway!

I'd get my mom one but not my dad, nothing to do with gender just the relationship we have, me and my dad are not close at all.

There is NO WAY I would get my dad anything like that. Ever. My mom? I would get her a gag gift if I had less tact....

Neither would ever happen.

Neither of them would I ever even remotely think of getting any type of sex related item for. I was mortified when I took my dad (my parents are divorced) to the store and he had me go with him to buy condoms. Don't get me wrong, I am glad he is happy and enjoying life...but what my parents do romance wise is best kept to themselves. I also explained to my mom that I want NO lingerie at my bridal shower...if someone really wanted to purchase it, a gift card would be fine (like to a clothing store) or giving it to me in private (if they asked my size first). I consider myself close to both my parents, but this crosses a line for our family.

My fiance and I do not have any kids yet, but I could easily see us getting each other gifts from Eden for Mother/Father's Day once we are parents

I wouldn't buy either of my parents toys, but I'd be more willing to get something for my mom that I would for my dad.

I'm sure it's for couples with kids where the husband gets the wife something and the wife the husband something.

I can't see myself giving either parent a sex toy except as a gag gift. It would be more likely that I'd do this for my mom than my dad.
