Fifty years after the first Bond movie appeared in 1962, it is still going strong today! The 23rd film, titled Skyfall will be released later this year staring Daniel Craig. There have been 6 actors to play Bond. Many people consider Sean Connery to be the quintessential James Bond. Ian Fleming is the writer and creator of the Bond character in his 13 books. Connery and Brosnan, both kept it to a perfect level of slightly over the top. It helped a lot with the whole technology marching on problem they had. Shoe phones just seem so silly now

I own and have watched all the movies multiple times, and am looking forward to Skyfall with reservations (hate the director, love the cinematographer, really like Craig).

As far as the actors go, I'd rank them: Connery, Dalton, Craig, Brosnan, Lazenby, Moore.

It's a tad distressing that he'll be drinking Heineken in the new movie .

I own all of the movies except Timothy Dalton's - I cannot stand him in the role. Even when you consider that Dr. No came out 50(!) years ago and how old some of these movies are, they're still wonderful to watch (and the books are pretty good too ).

I'd rank them as Connery, Moore, Craig, Lazenby, Brosnan, Dalton.

I'm partial to Brosnan if only because that's who I grew up watching. I kind of love how ridic and campy all his and his predeccesors' Bond films are, tho. Craig's just lack that sense of humor for me.

I like Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan; in that order. In my opinion, Sean Connery set a high bar for a 'secret agent' type of character that other actors had to follow. By far, I like Goldfinger and Thunderball as my top favorite movies, followed by You Only Live Twice. The theme songs in both Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice are fantastic.
