I haven't seen the original, but I saw the remake on a recent flight. It was pretty good.

I rented it and rated it about 3.5/4. While it had a few problems (jonah hill) i did enjoy the storyline which was absurd, but not too unbelievably so, the meta jokes and twisted humor.
