Why not read the reviews, and try searching the forums for the general opinion stated already by forumgoers?

Don't waste your time! It was predictable, badly written, and the BDSM aspects not at all well-researched. My sister was reading it so I borrowed the first book from her and forced myself to finish the trilogy. I wanted to throw the third book at the wall so many times... I'm lucky I didn't. I would've wound up with extra windows all over the house.

I read them and I liked them, I haven't written the reviews on them yet. I did get bored with it on the third book. It seemed to get to be the same old over and over again. The first two were great and that was actually what led me to Eden. I was looking for ben wa balls!

There's lot of opinions on Eden surrounding the triology. Some contributors loved them, others hated them. I personally hated them. The books had to be some of the worst written "literature" I've ever seen. I've proofread better written work done by elementary school kids...seriously. It's like her editor fell asleep on the job. But, terrible english and obvious mistakes aside, the story itself was terrible. EL James has no concept of the Pacific Northwest, other than what she obviously read in Twilight. The storyline is so predictable. Christian is an abusive psychopath. The sex is boring and repetitive. And oh my god, if I read the words "inner goddess" or "bit my lip" one more time I'll scream.

And of course, the BDSM she portrays is so far from accurate. But I'm not an expert on the BDSM lifestyle so I won't even go into that.

I feel like you can find better BDSM themed reading material via Google, and you don't have to pay for it...
