I just found out that our current digital cable system will no allow us to record anything unless we have their rented DVR and pay a special monthly fee. I just wanted to record the news, since I was interviewed. I was really ticked off to find out this is now more and more common with digital systems.

Are you in this same situation?

Wow--we record all the time on the DVD recorder.....but I need to remember to 'finish' the DVD's or we cannot play them in the other players. That is ridiculous!!! You cannot record off tv??? Not good.
