I enjoy the realism in Nolan's films and that it sticks with the comics closer than Burton did. It doesn't turn it into a choke, the humor is there - but it's dark humor.
I've read some pretty dark Batman comics heh and they are 100000 times better than those I've read from the 70's when they started pushing the more censored material ; where things were much happier even if negative things happened.

Burton/Schumacher, this probably has a lot to do with them coming out during my youth. However I don't watch the Nolan films much because they are so dark so I guess I prefer it lighter. The 60's film is fun too.
