I think about 99% of books are better as books. I will still see the movie and be happy with it as long as it follows the book in some way. Blood and chocolate really made me mad...

I've only seen one movie that was better than the book - 'Big Fish'.

Though in some cases the movie is good in a different way, or better for a particular circumstance, or more accessible without being too dumbed-down.
