Dead Like Me

Contributor: Jul!a Jul!a
Dead Like Me is one of my favorite shows. I wasn't shown it until after it had already been canceled, but I watched both seasons in one weekend, and then when the movie came out, I was really disappointed with the character changing. Even with my disappointment in the movie, I still had to buy the set that had both seasons as well as the movie. I've introduced it to quite a few people and they've loved it too.

Is there anybody else out there? Or am I the only one who loves this awesome show.

It was a great show! I had season 2 and still have the movie.

I'd love to see Ellen Muth in a film with Geanine Garafalo and Ellen Page. That would be sarcastically awesome!

If you like Callum Blue, he plays Zod in the last few seasons of Smallville.

Somehow I knew you were gonna be the first to respond here, lol.

I never got into Smallville, but I would be interested in seeing Callum Blue in other rolls.

And Ellen Muth with Ellen Page and Geanine Garafalo would be amazing!

I've seen the first season (most of it, I think) and got kinda bored with it (I have a really short attention span when it comes to shows), though I really liked it. The second season and movie is in my Netflix Queue, so I'll get to it someday.

My man had both seasons on DVD and introduced me to them. I LOVE the show and was upset that there wasn't more! We just had one of our friends start watching it when she came to stay the weekend and she didn't get to finish it. " She texted me the night after she left and said " I'm having Dead Like Me withdrawals!" lol

I watched the first, and maybe the second episode and couldn't get into it. Does it get better? Should I give it another chance?

I'd give it a few more episodes just to give the characters time to develop more for you. The show isn't for everybody, but everyone I've played it for has loved it.

The plus side is that you don't have to wait forever for new episodes!

The downside is of course, that there are no more new episodes

Oooh, I'm glad I checked in on this thread! I enjoyed the show, but didn't even know there was a 'Life After Death' follow-up. Thanks, guys!

I actually just started watching it on my Netflix instant queue, and I love it. I already knew it had been canceled when I started watching it, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. It sucks that I only have 2 seasons to enjoy it, but oh well.

The movie sounds really disappointing, is the girl who plays George (Ellen Muth?? Not quite sure..) swapped out for a new girl? I don't think I could even watch that.

Ellen Muth is in the movie. No one else could play George.

They had to change actresses for Daisy, and while Sarah Wynter is ok, she's just not the same.

No, the real problem is that Mandy Patinkin was unavailable for the movie, so they wrote Rube out (it's a bit ambiguous, but apparently he's moved on) and the result was a pretty boring story about his replacement.

No, Ellen Muth is still playing George, however Laura Harris does not return as Daisy Adaire, and is instead replaced with Sara Wynter. She's not a bad actress, but the lines were all written with Laura Harris in mind, and can't really be delivered as well by anyone else. (at least in my opinion)

It's not the worst thing ever to watch, but it could certainly have been better in general.

Gary, you should definitely watch a few more episodes. They really changed the show after the third or fourth episode and it got much better. (This is largely because they got rid of the show's creator and brought in different writers.)

The second half of the first season is really great, as is the entire second season. Skip the direct-to-DVD movie, though.. it's pretty bad. (Watch it if you feel that you need more of a resolution to the subplot with George's sister ... although personally I think the 2nd season finale left that in a pretty good place.)

One of my favorite shows, ever. I put off watching the last episode for such a long time because I knew it was the last one and I was SO sad about it.

OMG we love Dead Like Me! Hubby discovered it over the summer on Xbox Live Netflix. We watched both seasons and the movie in like a week. We actually really liked the movie. The only part we didn't like (obviously) was Daisy being re-cast. We felt they should have just written her out of the show if they couldn't get the actress back. And Reggie grew up to be such a beautiful young woman. Yeah, probably one of our all-time favorite shows.

I love that show. I started to watch it on Netflix because it sounded like some book a friend told me about. I got hooked after a few episodes. I was so bummed that it only lasted 2 seasons. I was hoping that the movie would explain more about Rube's story, but of course it didn't. Mason and Roxy were my two favorite characters.

I really like Pushing Daisies too. I still haven't finished the second season because I know it's only going to frustrate me since things are going to be left unresolved.

I think it end petty well. they known for sure that it was going to end but its a bit like they put a end episode where it should not have been.
