Do you have a favorite "romantic" song?

We still both get warm fuzzies listening to Marry Me, by Train. The Wedding Song "There is Love" by Paul Stookey was OUR wedding song, so that too keeps our fires burning.

How about YOU? Do you have a ROMANTIC SONG?

The Mrs. and I danced to "Could I have this dance" sung (and I beleive written also) by Anne Murray at our wedding. It is still a beautiful song. I think the 1st line is: "Could I have this dance for the rest of my life..."

PS

This is a great posting!! It will be interesting to see which songs were popular in which decade. Ours is from the 1970's.

We have two special songs - in addition to the song at our wedding. The song at our wedding was written by Andrew Culverwell and is titled "He had it planned long ago" and we actually sang it to each other. The lyrics are at the bottom of this post.

Two songs that are special to us though are Shania Twain's "You're still the one" which means a lot to us and I think of it is "Looks Like We Made It". We had been going through a very very rough time in our marriage and at times had wondered if we would give up (even though we couldn't afford to give up). Once again, we'd both decided to stay married...and then we heard that song. Since everyone always said we'd never make it since we came from different sides of the track ... that song meant a lot to us. When I heard Shania and her husband split up years later, I was heartbroken cause I knew she'd written it to him.

The final song is by Anne Murray called "You Needed Me". That was very special to us in the early years of our marriage (when Anne Murray was more popular too).

Title: He Had It Planned Long Ago

We come to a moment so great in our lives,
We look at each other, with tears in our eyes,
So thankful to God for this moment in time,
But He had it planned long ago.

Chorus
He holds the heavens in space, the world in its place;
The mountains and valleys are all His, we know.
A man and a woman, a love that's forever, yes,
He had it planned long ago.
Today there's the question: "How long will it last,
How soon will the joy of this moment be past?"
The answer is, "Never" if we really know
That He had it planned long ago.

Chorus
He holds the heavens in space, the world in its place;
The mountains and valleys are all His, we know.
A man and a woman, a love that's forever, yes,
He had it planned long ago.
There's nobody greater that God up above,
He'll keep us together with His great arms of love.
And we'll never be lonely on earth, here below,
For He had it planned long ago.

Chorus
He holds the heavens in space, the world in its place;
The mountains and valleys are all His, we know.
A man and a woman, a love that's forever, yes,
He had it planned long ago.
He holds the heavens in space, the world in its place;
The mountains and valleys are all His, we know.
A man and a woman, a love that's forever, yes,
He had it planned long ago.

Oh yes, He had it planned long ago.

"Feels Like Home" composed by Randy Newman sang by Bonnie Raitt on Newman's Faust. Others have covered the song as well.

Something in your eyes
Makes me want to lose myself
Makes me want to lose myself
In your arms

There's something in your voice
Makes my heart beat fast
Hope this feeling lasts
The rest of my life

If you knew
How lonely my life has been
And how long I've been so alone
And if you knew
How I wanted someone to come along
And change my life
The way you've done
It feels like home
It feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I come from

It feels like home
It feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong

A window breaks down a long dark street
And a siren wails in the night
But I'm alright cause I have you here with me
And I can almost see
through the dark there is light

If you knew how much
this moment means to me
And how long I've waited for your touch
And if you knew how happy you are making me
I'd never thought that I'd love anyone so much

It feels like home
It feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I come from
It feels like home to me
It feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong

I certainly do, I love Moondance by Van Morrison. It's upbeat enough to dance to but still a really good song.
That said though...once my boyfriend and I have a 'special song' so to speak it will become my new favorite regardless of what it is.
