Do you relate to characters in a book/show/movie? If so then who and why? What is it about them that makes you relate to them?

I relate to characters all the time, if they're written well and are well-rounded. Aggressive girls in TV shows tend to be the ones I lean towards, and I even identify with Michonne from Walking Dead in some ways. (Definitely not in the badass, katana-wielding way though. I am nowhere near that cool.)

Not realy... the closest person I could relate to is Amy Farrah Fowler from the Big Bang Theory

I relate to at least one character in a movie, show, or book usually because the characters are designed that way. The characters in books especially are designed to catch a certain kind of person and draw them in...

Well sometimes, but it depends on what the character in the book is dealing with & going through. There have been times in both TV shows and in books where I could completely relate to a struggle that a character was facing. I'm not a big TV watcher now & the books I read are often thrillers and I don't really relate much to having to run from a serial killer. LOL But yes, it has happened to me. Relating to a character, not having to run from a killer. Lol.

I relate to realistic characters that go through adversity like a real person would. I like a lot of George R.R. Martin's characters in Game of Thrones cause they're all very real.

I write and imagine my own. I'm too offbeat for most movies/shows to create anyone like me. The closest, I think, would be Gonzo from "The Muppets" ... I've always had such sympathy for him.

Sometimes I do. Usually what they say or their experiences.

I'll relate better to a well-written character going through things totally disparate from my life than a poorly-written character dealing with the same problems as I am.
