would you rather your favorite tv show be canceled too soon or too late?

Ok, so we're all sad there was only one season of My so called life and Wonder Falls. But what about shows that drag on too long? I thought the latest season of Dexter sucked, yet there's more in the works. Would you prefer that your fave show go on too long or not long enough?

too long. yes the simpsons has sucked since season 9-10, but i'd rather live with seasons 9-23 than lose seasons 2-8.

I think I'd rather see a show go too soon, because then every time you watch it or think about you can think about all the awesome things that could have been rather than watching the show spiral down and start to suck.

i'd rather it be gone too soon... some can just be ruined! i'm on the fence about this right now for Supernatural

I'd rather see it go too long - that way I can ease out of watching it while still being able to enjoy it up to that point, whether it goes on many seasons too long (Seinfeld) or just one (Sopranos). Some shows, like Dexter and True Blood, I have not had my fill of yet and am still enjoying, so I hope they go on a long time

Same here.

It's horrible if a show drags on too long and your favorite characters start to completely change.. It's better to have fond memories and then just go write fanfiction to satisfy yourself

Tough question. Honestly I am on the fence with my answer. I hate when shows I love get cancelled but am also sad when shows I love start sucking. /Ponders question. /Has no answer.

I agree. There are very few shows I end up really liking, and Id rather have them dwindle towards the end than miss great things that could have been.

Too soon so I can still have fond memories!

I'd rather see a show go on too long. I mean, Charmed went on so long that they were REALLY reaching for plot ideas. But it eventually came to a satisfying close. Veronica Mars, on the other hand, only had 2 seasons, and suddenly ended in the middle of the 3rd season with so many things left unresolved.

good argument. i was going to say too soon, until i read your comment.

The Simpsons seasons 3-7 are my favorite. 7 is the #1 season for me.

Too soon. Usually if they just "keep going", it sort of ruins the show for me.

Too long. After all, I can always pretend that certain seasons don't exist. Just like how they never made any Star Wars prequels.

I'd musch rather it be too late because then I can just stop watching once it's bad rather than feeling like it was left hanging because it ended too soon.

I'd rather it be too late because I can't stand when a good show ends so quickly!
