I'm so excited! One theory I've read is that Rowling is going to use the website to publish the backstories of minor characters. It would be great to see the HP world fleshed out even more fully!

Agreed. I wouldn't mind seeing more back story to some of the characters, or even more focus on the school instead of just the main three.

Oh that would be the coolest! I've heard she has huge files of backstory and details to flesh out the world in her own mind as she was writing. I'm guessing the announcement will be another short supplement book with the proceeds again going to charity.

Well, I'd like my idea of stories centring on Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, and their tenure at the school, I think it's most likely an encyclopaedia coming out.

While it will be more than that, that's pretty much the basis for this. She says it's a free website, but it will have an online store to purchase the e-books (genius, but probably $$ as I doubt anyone else will have rights) in order to fully take advantage of the site.

But for all of you who haven't checked, the announcement is up!

I agree with A.

I'm hoping their going to announce a prequel to the series. It would be really cool to see some books about Tom Riddel, James and Lilly, etc. while they were at Hogwarts, or something about the first war against the death eaters.
