I love the series but died a little inside when i tried reading the books. Theyre dull.

The point is that the show isn't really making anything up. All the content is in the books. The show just tweaks things a little (except some of the maenad stuff).

At first I couldn't stand the sight of another vampire themed show, but when my girlfriend sat me down and made me watch... I was hooked and now I can't wait for the new season lol

I *love* my Sookie! And Bill. And Eric. And Lafayette. And Tara!!!!! OMG! Shoot, I love ALL the characters!

It's a really well-done show! And the beautiful sex scenes are always fun! I'm excited about the new season!

I liked the books. To anyone that hasn't read them, they're a very easy read. I got through them all in a couple of weeks. Beware though, there ARE spoilers. Just a warning, if you care about that sort of thing.

Twilight, however...

I don't usually like anything vampire related that isn't written by Anne Rice, but I loved Alan Ball's writing on Six Feet Under, and True Blood is great. I tried reading the books, but I found them annoying.
