Hello. I'm considering setting up a Sci-Fi forum game called Colony 17, which casts players as crew members or civilians living aboard the 17th space.

I've not read the books yet but my boyfriend and friend swear by them. I'd watch the movies, too, though. Movies are fun!

Haven't read the book, and I don't plan on watching the movie.

Both! But if you only choose one, read the books. They are always better than the movies. Personally, I liked the first two much better than the last book.

Both. I would read the first book before you see the movie but it really doesn't matter, I'm sure the movie will leave stuff out just like other movies based on books do. I watched 3 Harry Potter movies before I read a single book and it made more sense after reading.

The Hunger Games trilogy really is good and was a fast read for me because it was good that I couldn't put it down!

Read the books! They are great, i'm on the second one. Usually I don't read young adult books but these are really nice I'm going to go to see the movie too at some point.

In my opinion the books are always better than the movies they make out of them so whenever possible I read the books first.

As with any adaptation. Watch and enjoy the movie, THEN read the book to flesh it all out. If you read the book, it is always a let down, how much is LOST in getting it to the screen.

GEE...and here I thought it was a book about the Olympics being held in SOMALIA during the famine. Silly me. (JUST KIDDING)...the books are really pretty good..even for adults.

Both watch the movie then read the books if you liked the movie. That's my plan of action. I'm pretty excited about the movie.

I am looking for something new to read. I'm going to go see the movie first, since I love the actors, the makeup artists, and the overall idea. Then I'll grab the books.

I say both.

The books and the movies both give you a different perspective on the story in my opinion. That and the books have a little more to them in the way of the Games themselves cause honestly the movie couldn't show all of it with out losing there PG-13 rating.

I kind of preferred the movie to the book. The book was written in the first-person present so it was a little off-putting. Both are good, though.

I loved the movie! So much that I'm gonna try and borrow a copy of the books.

I saw the movie Saturday. 0_0 In love! I usually hate the movie if I read the book first, but this was very close. I think there was maybe 5 or 6 differences between the movie and the book. And from my imagination I felt like I had already seen the movie! It was amazing! I loved every minute of it. Except the three or four I missed cause people wanted to take their sweet time in the bathroom. -_-

I neither read nor watched Hunger Games, but as my tumblr dashboard tells me, the books beat the film. Some have said they've made the film version into a love triangle more prominently than it is in the books. I don't care for Hunger Games honestly, but with the little insight I have from having the fandom all over my dash I might as well spill my two cents.
