Looking For A True Blood Spoiler...

Good Morning. I know there are a lot of people on EF that have read the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris and that there are many that also watch the TV show. I watch the TV show only - I tried the books but just couldn't get it into them. So last night's episode left us hanging on what Sookie actually IS. I know the books and the show aren't consistently the same, but if this is a similar thread through the books and show, can someone PLEASE tell me what she is? I'm really not sure I can wait a week.

And if you do have patience (unlike myself) and want to wait and see it on tv, you may not want to read further, just in case someone is wiling to tell me what happens!

She's like 1/16th fairy in the books. Her great-grandfather is a fairy Prince named Niall. Jason has a power too, but it's not overt and isn't exactly a power, more like "+4 on Charisma based draws".

But, that's all in the books...the show, who knows! After the first season/book they REALLY diverge from each other, so much so that they aren't even the same.

In the books, Lafeyette dies at the of the first book.

I knew about Lafayette (I read the first one, just wasn't interested enough to go for the rest) - and I'm glad the show kept the character, I enjoy him. The fairy thing does make sense based on that little other world place both her and bill have been to now, and that weird light thing she can do.

yeah, totally not in the books. You don't even find out in the books until like the 6th or 7th book.
