Bones, Eureka, Terra Nova, Jericho, pretty much any Star Trek, Babylon 5, any TED Talk series, Top Gear, Skins, Dr. Who. That's just a few series suggestions that should give you a place to start.

I'll second Doctor Who, Terra Nova, Babylon 5, and Star Trek. Is Firefly on Netflix? I know Avatar: The Last Airbender (the cartoon, not the awful movie) is, because I was watching that last night, and it's kind of fun. The Color of Magic is pretty interesting. I also think I saw Legend of the Seeker during my scrolling, and that was a good show.
