I used to watch a ton of old Westerns with my dad when I was a kid, and with Gore Verbinski's Lone Ranger hitting theaters pretty soon, I'm just wondering what sort of westerns suit you.

I'm a big fan of the television shows - Bonanza, Gunsmoke, the Lone Ranger, etc - more than the movies because my dad doesn't necessarily watch something starting at the beginning all the way through to the end, and that drives me crazy! With the TV shows, there's less time for him to skip in or out, so I really got more invested in them than in the films.

I love the Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies--but with the marathon weeks on satellite--they are losing there appeal....need to watch some new ones!

I love John Wayne movies as well, but whenever someone else mentions that they like them, all I can think of is the movie Running Scared, where one of the characters is obsessed with him.
