The counterpart to cancelled shows you miss... what shows do you think should have gone off the air a few seasons ago? I have to admit I feel this way about The Office, much as I loved it in its day.

The simpsons, possibly the office, but i'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for another season to see how they adapt to the post michael atmosphere. there's also two and a half men, family guy, scrubs should have been cancelled at least before it became dr. teaching show, charmed could have ended a season or two earlier. Also, pretty much every reality show. Allen gregory went too long after the first five minutes.

I don't watch much tv, but I find that most shows go on too long. Especially the Simpsons.

Wipeout. I really have no idea what possesses people to watch that crap.
I'd also be nice if The View either upgraded to two idiot hostesses (cannot remember their names) or let Whoopi do something more productive.

I know someone will get upset by me saying this... but I say American Idol. Cool concept for the first few seasons... but it's been taken too far.

American Idol, House, CSI, or any other show where a majority of the original cast or a few key characters have been replaced over time. To me, suddenly changing the line-up is like jumping the shark, and there's not much productive programming left after that.

Just about all of them that have gone on past season three.
I can't think of many that have ended at the "right time" or while they were great, except maybe The Wire, or technically cancelled shows like Arrested Development or Freaks and Geeks.

Yes House is getting old (the show itself), but I'd vote for CSI and maybe Weeds is not quite as interesting as it was a few years ago.. I can stop in the middle of the season and forget it, whereas with older seasons I could watch them in a day.
