Who Likes Anime?

Contributor: cherryredhead88 cherryredhead88
I'm sure there is a thread around here somewhere about this, but I didn't find it in here so far and I am too lazy to search ATM.

I love anime, just finished up Samurai Champloo last night. I finished Full Metal Alchemist before that and now I am working on Trigun (or maybe scryed? not sure which one i will watch first)

Anyways, who all here is into Anime, and what is your fave show/character/nemesis etc etc?

I know there has GOT to be some Ghost in the Shell fans...as well as Cowboy Bebop. Those are just, you just have to! Lol

COME ON! Seriously, why do my posts barely get answered? No one here likes anime. At all. I find that hard to believe.

Ok, well I'm really not a big anime fan but I just felt so sad that no one posted I had to post something for you. I know. I'm a dork. I like your posts, by the way.

I'm not into anime but I do however enjoy looking at other people's anime drawings. I think it's because I am intrigued by people's talents.

I remember back in high school, anime was huge, especially amongst my circle of friends, but I never got into it. Too me it's too fantastical and silly.

I was never really a fan of the 'classics' like Ghost in the Shell and Akira. I did enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist and Slayers.

I love anime. I haven't watched any lately, though. Cowboy Bebop, Death Note... oh so many!

I love anime too! Although, recently, I don't really watch as much as read. I loved Tenchi Muyo, Trigun, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Berserk, Witch Hunter Robin, Trinity Blood, and Hellsing (my all-time favorite). Right now, I am still watching, off and on, Bleach and Naruto. As for movies, my favorites are Vampire Hunter D and Ninja Scroll. I've tried others but haven't gotten that into them. There are a lot of hentai series too. Sadly, I haven't had to the time to really get that into those... Maybe someone else can comment on hentai.

I don't watch a whole lot of it, but I enjoy certain series and feature length films. My favorites are Vampire Hunter D and Howl's Moving Castle. I just finished Black Blood Brothers and that was really fantastic.

The only anime I really enjoy watching is Lupin the Third, other than that I don't watch much at all.

The 1960s anime cartoon Speed Racer is the only anime show I like.

Awww * pats * It's ok! I'll like anime with you

Let's see... my favorite shows? Sailor Moon was my gateway drug to the anime style back when I was 6 or 7. I watched that, Pokemon, Digimon... and then I learned about the whole "dubs vs. subs" debate and after watching subtitled anime with the original Japanese voice acting, swore I could never go back to dubs. I watched Full Metal Alchemist (the original series, and not the 2010 revision), Ouran High School Host Club, most CLAMP animes, Code Geass, Gurren Lagann... there are more, but I can't remember them right now. I actually haven't seen any Ghost in the Shell yet, or Cowboy Bebop, but they're on my list.

I love anime, but I have been out of the loop for a while. Most of the anime that I own, or have seen, is mid to late 90's. I used to have hundreds of those poor quality vhs fan-sub movies.

I finished up Trigun and am working on Scryed right now, then it is a toss up between Death Note and Bleach. Thanks for the ideas of what else to get! Witch Hunter Robin should be a good one !

Anyone ever watch the original 1972 Devilman cartoon? or the 90's Devilman Lady? I loved those! The 90's Devilman Amon was great too.

I used to watch Anime all the time, in fact I was president of our high school club. I've always preferred to read manga though, there's something much more beautiful about it. My favourites are Sailor Moon, Hellsing, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, and .Hack//Sign.

I haven't seen that, I think I'll give it a look up and see what I can find.

I love the the movie Vampire Hunter D, anyone else see this?

Als, I have been searching for about...ummm...16 or so years for a specific Anime. It was about some girl being kidnapped by demons, vampires or something, and they hired a guy to rescue her. I know that is sort of vague but that is all I remember. All I know is that my father saw me watching it and said "That cartoon is not for kids" and turned it ... been searching for it ever since.

I like a lot of anime. Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop are couple of my favorites. A few others I like are Death Note, Gundam, and Casshern Sins(what I've seen of it anyway). There are a lot of series that I haven't finished, though I plan to eventually. @cherryredhead88, I'd suggest watching both Death Note and Bleach, since Bleach is still ongoing. For anyone that likes Vampire Hunter D, you should read the books now that there are translations of them.

I feel very fortunate that I have been able to see both Ghost in the Shell movies, and the 2nd Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, in movie theatres here in Philly!

Oh I will watch them both, it's just which one to watch next!

@ Viktor it wouldn't possibly be Inuyasha would it? Not quite the same type of plot, but Kigome falls down a well and travels with the demons/half demons etc

I am finding that I am more into samurai/adventure type anime than anything. I really loved Samurai Champloo it was good.

I'd have to agree about the Inuyasha thought

However Vik, when I googled exactly what you mentioned, it brought up an anime named Hell Girl and also Quran High School Host Club

Oooh. How have I not noticed this thread? I love Rurouni Kenshin. Watched the whole series, but I don't like the movies. They just...made me angry. Haha.

My boyfriend likes Trigun, but I haven't watched it yet. I've seen some of several other shows, but no other whole series. I like Yu Yu Hakusho, Deathnote, and Ouran High School Host Club. Hmm. I think that's about it? Hmm. Also, the Hiyao Miyazaki movies tend to be really good.

Lucky. I was mad that I wasn't able to go see Bloodlust in theaters. I didn't have the money, and the closest theater showing was a few hours away. I may not have even had my own car at that time. Were the Ghost in the Shell movies a local thing for you? I never heard about those coming to theaters.

I also forgot to mention that I love Mitazaki's movies, though I don't think I've seen them all though. The first, and my favorite, is Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, though it was called Warriors of the Wind at the time I saw it. I've still been trying to track a copy down to compare them.

I was never a fan until I saw Samurai Champloo. I watched the entire season with my husband, who is an avid anime fan. Then I started watching Naruto with him and stopped when they decided to put in a bunch of fillers and ignore wtf was happening with Sasuke.

Last year my husband and I watched Cowboy Bebop (omg, sofuckingawesome) and I only watched it because he said it was by the same people who did Samurai Champloo. I wish they would do another one, oh how I wish. I had weird crushes on Mugen and Spike.

I want to catch up on Naruto because my husband told me they've done tons with the story, including catching back up with everything, but that's a ton of episodes. I have this issue with hating dubs. At least Naruto dubs suck. I have to watch subtitled ones, but reading all that text makes me sleepy after an episode or two. I should just commit to it already.

Full Metal Alchemist is pretty good, what I've seen of it. Also there's this weird one with sword spirits or something that my husband was watching that looks interesting. I've been a terrible fan this year.
