I'm curious, I've tried a couple of times and I always got sidetracked and lost my main consensus. So have ya'll before? and if ya'll have about what? I'm super interested to hear.

I've tried. But it always seems my ideas sound better in my head than they look on paper.

I've written tons of short stories... and one that ended up being short novel-length (around 70 pages?) It was a sci-fi tale of forbidden love. Due to some weird cosmic force, everyone on earth spontaneously disappears... except for this psychic who had premonitions about it, and everyone who was clued into her premonitions. Mostly her daughter (the main character) and her daughter's friends. And also a group of travelers the daughter had met just before the event. The daughter ends up having an affair with one of the travelers... an older married man with a lot to lose.

After a few days, the psychic mother receives another message: the energy of the Earth will soon reverse itself, bringing everyone back as though nothing had happened. This revelation puts the daughter and her love interest into quite a bit of emotional turmoil. She still has very strong feelings for him, but he begins rejecting her out of guilt, out of desire to simply be back to his family. The group all go their separate ways, and wait for the world to return to normal.

As a final twist though, the mother finds out about her daughter's affair with the married traveler, and is able to figure out why it happened: her daughter's newly bloomed 'gift' as a siren. She has an unconscious ability to draw in men, attract them, seduce them, and cause them destruction with no effort. It's not exactly good news.

The story ends with the daughter contacting the man and telling him about the siren factor. She wants to ease the guilt he feels by assuring him that his infidelity was not his fault. Stronger forces made him do it. The story ends on an ambiguous note, with the reader wondering what this man will tell his wife, if anything, about what happened. We also wonder where the main character is going and what she'll do with/about her mysterious gift.

I love to write but I rarely have time for it. I've had a few things published but nothing recently.

Entered several stories in the Science Fiction Writers of Earth contest. Wrote tons more for myself and friends. Began several novels and finished a few of them. Wrote 1,000,000+ pages of various fanfics, most of the stories being novella-length or longer. (A friend once commented I suffer the same disease as Stephen King - diarrhea of the word processor.) Been fiddling off and on with a romance the past couple of years as cheap therapy concerning my divorce and subsequent FWB affair as well as establishing what I wanted in a real relationship.

The weirdest thing is that sometimes things in my stories happen later in real life. Example: I revisited a couple of characters I wrote back in junior high and had them meet again years later to address why they kinda-sorta broke up and what they had been up to, then my ex-boyfriend from high school contacts me and it followed the same lines as my story.

The current story is also doing the same thing. Like my main character, I met my Master through unusual circumstances (hers a bondage club, mine a not-admitting-to-being -a fetish site) and the guy turns out to be British and a Dom (fortunately, his family isn't as self-important as the love-interest's family). The love-interest's ex-wife was a gold-digger, and my Master's ex-wife was a gold-digger, too. I also wrote up my main character's best friend getting married on New Year's Eve of this past year, and it turned out that my best friend's son got married those couple of days ago. The main character works at a publishing firm, and I'm going to be interning at a publishing firm in a week.

So, yeah, I'm going to be wary of homicidal ex-wives, spooked horses, and bosses with Mafia ties now. Although I doubt the FWB from my own life will realize how stupid he is and apologize for being a dick about ending it like a coward ... writing about it was the only way I was going to get any closure on that matter.

I had to write one for a portfolio once. I basically made up some stuff based on my heritage etc. Did little research just to get a few things right and filled in the blanks. It actually turned out pretty good and seemed to impress some teachers. But I don't really do any creative writing of any kind anymore.

I love writing short stories and poems. Poetry is deep and a bit dark, stories vary depending on my mood at the time. My best short story was about a girl who decided to commit suicide. The few seconds from trigger pull to death was the main meat of the story--going through her decisions, what she would leave behind, etc. The ending left you on the edge of...did it happen? Was it a dream? did she regret or want to continue?

i start stories, some get finished, but most don't. There's one i've been working on for a while, but i don't write much of it. think it's more of a short story than a book, but who knows.

my poetry/dream/art book was self-published and you can find it at the below link

dream of underwater volcanoes.

it was written over a period of 4 years, 1 of which was spent mainly in solitude, sometimes in meditation, on the shores of italy.

if you're not into following links, just google 'dream of underwater volcanoes.' it's the first result.

I've written a few poems that got published when I was younger. I've written many more than that which are much better but I've never released them publicly because a website or two. I've working on two books, though. One is actually getting somewhere. The other is just something I wrote the first chapter to that I really love the idea of. I really hope the first gets finished, though. It's the first book I've written a lot on and I love it. I just can't find the motivation to write as much as I'd like to.

I get bursts of inspiration, but I can never get a solid plot down.
I write erotic fanfiction sometimes and I think I have a good grasp of language and flow; I just feel silly for having to build off of pre-existing characters instead of making my own.

I try every November during NaNoWriMo actually, maybe one of these days I'll be able to stop procrastinating enough to really 'finish' one. x'D
From the feedback I've gotten the new one I'm working on is pretty good so far. ^_^

I've published a ton of erotica short stories in the early aughts. Written several novels, even had an agent for one until the market ker-rasshed! So I've been more focused on creative non fiction and blogging these days.

I've finished a number of short stories (at least 2 of them are on Eden in the Halloween Stories part) I have 2 novels in the works. "In The Works" means I haven't finished them.

Getting an agent is necessary to publish a novel. My father published has a novel published without an agent, but the publisher was low rent and it didn't get edited or pushed properly and promptly disappeared. I can't afford an agent, and they will usually only see you if.... you've already published. Which makes writing difficult to do for a living.

I'm always trying...but I never like what I've written because it doesn't live up to the story in my head. I'm going to keep trying tho. I tried writing a time travel novel about the American Revolution, an Arthurian novel about an immortal Morgan Lefaye, and one about a cop looking for a missing woman who keeps dreaming about her.
