I have played music since I was 12, keyboards and various world percussion instruments. Own a guitar and requinto, but haven't learned how to use them yet.
Woah...what is a requinto?!

Just noticed the cut time signature (2/2). Not sure what that's supposed to mean, since there aren't a regular 2 half notes per measure...

I do most every instrument family except for strings.

I used to play the flute, but I gave it up because of personal dilemmas.
I was also teaching myself to play Piano for a while, but haven't dragged the keyboard out in ages..

I play a low brass instrument called the euphonium A lot of people have no idea what that is, so I like to say it's like a baby tuba Mine is a very musical family, though, so I dabble in a lot of instruments.

I was the MVP for my marching band in high school and there aren't a lot of opportunities for me to brag about that, so I'm throwing it in here

I played clarinet from 5th grade through 8th grade. I quit before high school, because it wasn't something I loved so much, that I was willing to give up that much time for practices and stuff. Plus I moved to a new school district, so I didn't want to start high school band with new people.

I played piano from 6 to 16. When I'm at a keyboard now, it's surprising how little I remember. lol

I played piano for a little over a year when I was a kid, and I remember very little - like Yankee doodle dandy and a few other grammar school ditties

I've done a lot of music.

I started on piano and moved to guitar and now have a little modest collection of weird instruments to compliment that and a degree in music specializing in laptop/electronic music and composition. Fat chance it is actually useful for much beyond fun, but I'm always making more and listening to more music.

I've been playing guitar for about 6ish years now on and off. Sometimes I find no interest, then sometimes I'll pick it up and get back into the swing of things. I love my guitars though, I have 5.

I've tinkered on the piano, the flute, and singing. I just can't think fast enough, then again, I didn't like to practice. We have one of those Casio keyboards that light up and help you play the song and hardly no one uses it.

The "skin flute" is the only one I'm good at playing!

My Man and I got together in the beginning, because we are both musicians. I have played piano and keyboards since I was a small child, like 2 or 3, and got my first guitar and taught myself at 14. We have emassed a collection of vintage guitars (mostly Fender and Gibson, but we also have a Takimine 12 string and various and sundry other guitars, from when we were young and had money for ourselves) two drum sets, a small 4 track recording board, a few banjos and an inexpensive mandolin, a synthesizer and several keyboards. Plus, we each have our childhood console pianos, one in the basement (NOT a good place for it) and one upstairs.

My Man used to play in bands and I used to record my own music. Those days are long gone, due to pressures and lack of extra time from kids, work, living in "handyman special" houses that constantly need work and other hobbies, like gardening and cooking and baking occurring. But, I have gotten pretty good at the Skin Flute.

Sometimes he'll get out a couple of guitars for old time sake, right now there is a Takimine 6 string acoustic, a mandolin and something else in my living room that needs to be brought down to our tiny "Recording studio" in the basement.

Our kids have all taken up the instruments at various times, and our oldest dd has an actual Martin Guitar (very very classy high rent guitar) in her and her boyfreind's collection. Inevitably, both our older girls have boyfriends who are also musicians. The oldest one's BF plays in two bands and is really really good.

We really should play more often, but there always seem to be something else to do.

I love the musical "Score" Lauren.

Oh man, go for it! Don't let the idea of playing it hold you back because I think guitar is one of the most accessible instruments out there. Learn a few chords and just make it up from there!

It's not in cut, I think they just took a composition and removed the actual notes and left in the rests and time sigs and stuff, and then randomly imposed the notes having sex? I don't know. I'm confused. I tried to count this so many times but there's no a single time that this is going in. I don't know, I wish my boyfriend were here...I'm not formally trained, he would know the answer though!

I don't play anything.

When I was in grade school I played the flute for a brief period of time...and occasionally piano. Nothing serious though.

I have played flute since I was in middle school (sixth grade to be exact, lol) And played it from then on until I graduated High School, lol. I absolutely *Loved* Marching Band and practically lived for it every Summer/Fall (Symphonic/Concert band was alright, but it never came close to the fun that Marching Band was) I even became Woodwind Captain and eventually Drum Major (they conduct the band and considered the main student leader of the band, and is second only to the Band Teacher)

Along with flute and being able to lead and conduct the band, I also learned how to play percussion instruments like the Xylophone, and the Marimba as well

One of the best songs I've ever played while in Marching Band: Incantation by Benoit Jutras (Marching Band arrangement) from the show Cirque du Soleil: Quidam. (Live and Studio versions from the show). I literally get (good) chills and goosebumps every time I listen to it, Lol. (In case you all haven't noticed, I'm sort of a Band Geek, lol, even though It's been a little over a year since I graduated, lol)

On the 30th I'm actually going to be heading up to the Crystal Coast Band Classic near where I live so that I can show Synthetik what all the fuss is about and the sheer awesomeness of it, lol I can't wait!

(Oh, and Synthetik DJs, does that count? lmao)

Sorry, lol, just saw your post. My fiancé, referred to on here as Synthetik*, DJs at a local event called Asylum and has done so since, well, forever it seems, lol. I'm not sure what all the terminology is, lol, but I know with the equipment for the event, he can either use a computer or two CD's and blend the music together so that it flows from one to the next, lol. He doesn't use vinyl records or anything, lol. And it's mainly Industrial/Electronic/ Gothic style music. And I'm not sure what final scratch is, lol, but if that's where you make the *Scratchy, scratchy* sound when DJing, then no, he doesn't do that (as far as I'm aware anyway, lol).

I apologize if I'm confusing . Like I said, I don't really know all that DJ language, but I watch him, lol, so I know somewhat *how* he does it, but not necessarily the exact terms.

[*Synthetik being derived from his Dj name: (DJ) Synthetik Nightmare]

I 'played' bass guitar for some 8 years, though never really went anywhere with it - didn't even practice that much despite loving the sound. Sold both of my basses just recently, deciding to give it up...

Before that I've played saxophone and trumpet, and just today I decided I was going to try and teach myself the fiddle, seeing as I am a raging fan of celtic music. Picked up a dirt cheap starter violin from an overstock shop for $60...

I taught myself guitar and bass in HS, I can play the piano as well, but not very well (that was self taught too) I wish I had kept up with and continued to play, but I haven't. I can still play guitar but not like I used to. My bf bought a new acoustic guitar last year. It's really nice, and it's soooo relaxing to be able to play again, I just need to find more time to do it.

btw, Lauren, you were in a bagpipe band??? AWESOME.
