Do any of you write books or aspire to? What do you write about?

When I was younger I wrote a lot of fantasy, but now I'm beginning to write more realistic fiction that often includes adult material. I'm not published yet so I am just a writer. I recently had the chance to be self published but passed it up because that specific work wasn't very good.

When I was in high school I was the youngest author invited to the StoneCoast Writers' Conference. I used to write short stories and poetry all the time but now I don't at all. An occasional erotic story here and there but nothing more. I prefer to blog, it's my online journal completely exposed to the world. Maybe someday I'll get around to writing fiction or picking up where I left off on my "book", I think I stalled at 200 pages.

I do however, write music.. not as much as I used to but I'm always thinking up lyrics and filling in blank sheet music pages.

I wrote a lot in high school particularly, plays, short stories, one acts, poetry, etc. I've written a handful of erotic stories, but not a lot. I've had little bits of it published (nothing big at all), and I don't do a ton of writing now, though I do a little bit with music and ocassionally just for fun.

Up until the last two and a half years I was primarily a writer. Pretty well continued a desire to do so since high school.

Winemaking and viticulture have pretty well swamped that now. Had a few books published, and contributed an essay to a few others when asked (one in a book of men explaining their behaviour to women)...though the bulk was feature writing and criticism for mags and newspapers...and a long stint as a satirist and cartoonist for a satirical mag.

I'm an author. I write fiction novels, two published at the moment. My most recent one was about a stripper, and it's on its way to becoming a series of three (at least) books because I enjoyed writing about the characters and plot so much.

I love to write, but I haven't in a long time. I used to write poetry, and have 2 half-finished books that I keep telling myself need to be done. When I was in high school, I always wanted to be the next Stephen King

I just graduated with a writing degree and I've been writing since before high school. I write a broad range of stuff. short stories, longer fiction, scientific nonfiction, memoir, and nature writing mostly. I have had two excerpts of my nature writing published and I'm working on trying to get the book those are from finished and published. I'd have to say that character development is my favorite part of writing. I love making people and fleshing them out.
nice to see a community of writers on here. ^_^

I've always written. I believe I had a poem published in some book produced by Poetry.com or some similar site. When I was really young (pre-teen), it was lyrics. In my teens, I wrote poetry and sometimes short stories. Sometimes I write a little erotica and I blog, now, but my writing has really taken a dip. I do blog on multiple sites, though. I suppose that is something of a substitution.

I've been writing since before I can remember: poetry, prose, music, you name it I write it. I can't get through a day without writing something down, as my mind is constantly fabricating new pieces. The goal is to someday become a published writer, but for right now I'll probably just settle on going to grad school to get my degree in English Literature. Of course I'll keep writing in the mean time

I'm an English major and write stories and poems, normally pertaining to horror, sci fi, fantasy, and dark fantasy. I focus on the 'disgusting' part of things, the horrible, fear, insanity, etc. I also tend to use elements not everyone uses in a book, such as colorblindness, terminal illnesses, etc. I also love irony and plot twists.

Haven't had the creativity to write so much now, though.
