The 7 Most Baffling Things About Women's Clothes

Contributor: Jul!a Jul!a
"There are a lot of annoying things about being a woman, like periods, childbirth and not being able to play basketball in a way that keeps spectators awake. But near the top of the list has got to be buying clothes.
I know one way to fix it is just to be ballsy and wear men's clothes, and that's a bold choice. But you take a social hit for wearing "masculine" clothes, and most women don't want to take that hit. So they go to buy clothes made specifically "for women," and generally find a set of the most impractical, low-quality, high-maintenance crap that a sweatshop can make.
Here are a few of the many, many awful things about the clothes that manufacturers want women to wear:"

With each thing that this list named, I found myself nodding along more and more. And then realizing a big part of why I typically go clothes shopping at resale shops where the things being sold are (if I'm lucky) before a lot of this silliness really started coming into play. Well, maybe not so much anymore. But at least when I end up having to buy 3 shirts to wear as one because they're all so see through, I still spend less than what I would have on one really thin see through shirt from Target.

What else would you add to this list?

7 reasons why I don't like women's clothes. I'm happy to wear what's comfortable and couldn't give two fucks if I take a social hit for wearing masculine clothes. lol

I am the same as you! I wear my female lose fitted pants, but that is only because they don't have the flap! I wear only men't tops though. I hate most women's cloths.

I hear you Js250 too! Bras once you go past a certain size are ugly! Why can't you stitch some lace on the front of the cup so it is cuter!

Could not agree more. And the most frustrating thing is when they make larger cup sizes with tons of padding in the cups. Hello... if someone is buying a bra in my size, trust me, THEY DON'T NEED PADDING.

You know, you'd think with how many women are upset with the way things are, the companies might listen and start making more comfortable standardized clothing. I don't care as much about the size on the label as I want it to fit and be comfortable.

3/4 sleeves! Why don't they make things with long sleeves anymore? WHY?

I agree with Js250, I hate going bra shopping finding a bra for some one who has " big-o-tittys " (as my man says ) that are cute is like trying to find a neddle in a hay stack, Its like they think all women who have big boobs ae old. So they have to be looking like a granny bra !

I mean like really people, what young womens wants to try and look sexy in a bra that looks like her grandmas !!

There was only a brief mention of my pet peeve about women's clothes - cap sleeves. Cap sleeves are the bane of my existence, yet shirts come with two sleeve lengths - cap and 3/4. Who the feck wears 3/4 sleeve in the middle of summer in Florida? (Maybe those girls who get cold all the time.) It's almost as if mid-bicep and elbow length sleeves have been erased from the world.

Thank you. The lack of logic makes my brain hurt. Why the arbitrary sizes? It's not like we have a precise system of measurement available for our use-

Oh wait.

It is amazing how women's fashion is so screwy, I wear a 13 long in jeans and have for years, I laugh at the old nave comment cause i just bought two pair of old navy jeans in a 14 long cause they didst have 13 and one pair is huge in the butt and the other pair is skin tight. I work for a retail clothing store and i love shopping there, the idea of all the labels in one place and im not stuck with trying to by a shirt that's so thin with nine diff colors of tank top meant to go under it. and I love the t shirts for woman that look like men's Jersey shirts, whatever happened to them. I picked on up when i signed up for college with the schools logo on it and i love it but once i washed it, it shrank and now i have to wear a long tank top under it..
