I love stumbling across "old school" solutions for things, especially when the modern alternative is that you're SOL without an overly manufactured product or just replacing whatever's wrong. Either way, I thought this list was still kinda neat. You may also want to check out things you should never put down the drain, 6 things you should clean but probably don't, and 10 products you should ban from your home forever. I don't necessarily agree with everything, but it's still a good read all the same.

Pretty neat, heard of most of them. So many ideas like that get lost over the years. One that has helped us through the years is Borax soap sprinkled around the base of the house will keep most insects away. Simple and cheap too, as long as you can find Borax soap.

I love the baking soda and vinegar for clearing up drains. It's worked pretty well in our house.
