8 weirdly sexual products you won't believe are for kids

Contributor: Jul!a Jul!a
Every time I see somebody saying that something sexualizes children, I cringe a little bit and then go see if it's legitimately a horrible idea/product, or if it's being blown out of proportion. I can think of a few other things that I would have added to this list from Cracked, but still had some solid face palming moments while reading through this list. Who in the hell wants their 11 year old learning how to dance on a stripper pole that's being sold with a fake garter and fake money? And don't even get me started on the "sexy" costumes for young teens and pre-teens...

The comments are intensely entertaining.

I worked at Macy's in the children's wear department back in 2004 and we had the push up/padded bras there. Never sold a single one. The manager told me "The buyers' felt we had a market for it, but we obviously don't."

DAMN! wow! uh...ooo..erm. speechless.

Oh so wrong! When I was that age my mother would've slapped me if I told her I wanted to be a "sexy" maid. Times have sure changed A LOT!
It seems they have forgotten to add thisdoll at number 9.

I still can't believe what my eyes saw. I guess I've been living under a rock for the past couple of years or so because I hadn't heard of some of this stuff.

I don't know about people these days just like when camel cigaretts came out with the mascot "smoking Joe" being a cartoon, and who's being targeted for a cartoon the kids were. The kids now days have more freedom than we did back in my days. A lot of kids think it's ok since Miley Cyrus did the dance on the stripper pole.

I just hope parents have enough sense to not buy those things for their children. Kids don't need those things

I would never buy my child a pushup bra. My 16 year old, maybe. I know I wore push-up bras at 16 and 17 because otherwise I had like, no boobs. I know that at that age it shouldn't be a big deal, but if it's not over the top, I'd consider it.

Oh.......no. I have never bought my kids Bratz dolls. In fact, when people asked, I would say, "No Bratz dolls, please." I know it's rude to request or not request certain presents for kids, but Bratz are awful. Luckily, my girls saw they were not appropriate and didn't want them.

A stripper pole? Doesn't Chris Rock say "As a father, the very last that is asked of you is to keep your girl off the Pole?"

My 11 year old does have a couple of lightly padded training bras. The reason? They were all I could find in her size. She's a well developed girl, and needs a bra, and the little cloth ones don't fit her anymore. It's hard to find 34 As or even 34 Bs in well constructed bras, and women's bras don't fit her proportions properly. But, she's 11, not 7.

Ok, what happened to the days of little girls wearing granny panties? I remember that clothes shopping for 7th grade was a big deal because it was the first time I had a gym class where I had to change my clothes in front of all the other girls. That's when I got to buy basic bras and cute panties. It was a rite of passage of sorts. If you've been wearing the same type of underwear since you were in 3rd grade, then buying big girl underwear isn't special anymore.

Wow! Being a mom of an 8 yr daughter... I never allowed her to have Bratz. I was okay w/Barbies though. I started off w/the beach ones that werent so curvey. I would NEVER buy her a "play stripper pole" or a thong!! She did get a training bra in a bag of hand me down clothes from a friend and I told her we will just keep it over here... I also refuse to buy her a bikini for the summer. I did get her a Tank-ini, which really is a fancy one piece.

I think its really important to educate our daughters about sex in a positive fashion. Its never too late to talk about it and always be open to questions. = )

I have always referred to Bratz dolls as Prostitots.

The only good thing about Bratz I can say was real life movie. It had a really good message in it about friends and cliques and whatnot.

and what is sick is that I actually know a woman that would buy that push up bathing suit for her 11 year old. at 10 years old she had her in corsets and cinchers. no joke. the kid came to my house, showed me what she was wearing and i promptly told her to take it off and not wear that in my house.

Those Bratz dolls have always bothered me, my little sister got one from someone once and I wanted to throw it away. I think people have take notice about them because I see less commercials for them now. I can't even find the words to say how horrible that virgin waxing sh*t is...

I see a lot of immigrants buying that kind of stuff (the skimpy outfits) for their children here. I've also seen them wearing Playboy themed clothing, and of course, those sweatpants with "juicy" and "sexy" and "whatever lame slogan" on the butt. I wonder if they even know what these things are?

The sad thing is, my sister would most likely be one of those to get some of these things for her kids

Unbelievable! As if kids didn't grow up fast enough already. I wouldn't want any kids of mine to be raised with that rubbish.

That's complete crap I can't believe they would market all that shit for kids. The way I see it, marketing to sexualize children is basically promoting paedophilia for the sake of consumerism.

we got one of those bratz babies in a grab bag of mcd's toys once and my son fell in love with it. I hated it and her little thong, it was disgusting, we just got rid of it finally.

I have been disgusted at A&F for a long time, mainly because of their racist and sizest employment practices.

hehe, if I ever have a little girl, I am never buying her any thong until she is old enough to get it herself.
