A doctor patient relationship is very similar to any relationship you might have; there should be mutual respect and people should listen to each other. Of course there's more to it than that, and this article gives you a few things you should look out for with your doctor. I have some pretty bad experiences with doctors. One, in fact, I feel sexually assaulted me and I wish I had brought it to someone's attention at the time. So I think it's important for SO many reasons to be proactive in having an open, safe relationship with your doctor. It's your body and your health, after all.
