We have tried Tupperware, Chip Clips, you name it. We have SUCH humidity here our cereal, once opened, goes to MUSH in a couple of weeks. I cannot stand mushy, non crisp, non fresh tasting breakfast cereal.

Do you also toss out lots of breakfast cereals for this, or do you know of some "great secret" for keeping the stuff fresh????

THANKS for ANY suggestions.

I put it into either zip top bags or Tupperware. (Or something cheaper than Tupperware that seals.) I hate soggy stuff. A double zip bag, inside a well sealing Tupperware. Make sure you put the stuff in as soon as you open it, so the mushy messy doesn't start to happen.

I tell My Man every time he opens a bag of chips or tortilla chips or pretzels that I bought zip lock bags to keep them fresh. He thinks twisting the top of the bags really tightly will help. (The bag just opens when he walks away.)

Only if it's REALLY stale.

Otherwise I'll still eat it. I moved to a much more humid climate (SE Houston right by the coast) and I've noticed that if I don't close and clip my chip bags right away, the entire bag is a total loss a few hours later.

Have you tried any of those containers have have the air-tight seals? I mean, other than the regular cereal containers. But ones that have that kind of... pop latch on them?

I've never had cereal go soggy except in milk, but if it was like that in the box I'd be tossing it.

I have a cereal dispenser from target. Pour the cereal in when purchased and it keeps very well. I think it was around $25
