A little bit different kind of pet question: what would be your lil one of choice from those critters never able to be pets? :)

Contributor: DreamWolf DreamWolf
Though Wolves CAN be trained to be reliable pets, so they can't be included in this topic, I do say that that is my dream, maybe never coming true as my Master used to have halfbreeds with His ex-wife, and He says they are VERY hard to control good enough AND keep happy...

But anyway, what would be the lil one you would love to have? (I mean real (not fictional) critters now, and not those which CAN be held as pets, like bats for example... ^^)

Technically, almost any animal could conceivably be kept if a person has enough space and the proper enclosures, permits, and training needed to handle them. So the question kind of falls flat for me right there.

So I'm going to go ahead and include any animals that would require these things and say wolves or tigers. Or a polar bear.

A fox. Supposedly there is a place domesticating some in Russia that occasionally adopts them out.

I just saw the cutest video of a prairie dog and a cat. I totally want a prairie dog now, but I don't think the dogs would be okay with it.

Also, WOMBATS! Enough said.

I want a hedge hog or a sugar glider. A friend has had both and they are so cute.

Koala. So soft. Sadly they aren't too cuddly.

Yup. The Russian silver fox experiment has yielded foxes that look and act very much like domestic dogs, and they do sometimes sell them as pets to help gain funding for the continuation of the project. I'd love one, though it's probably expensive as all hell.

A fox. There is a breed that has been domesticated, but they are still illegal in my state. Apparently they are very affectionate and active, but not as temperamental as the wolf half-breeds can be.

There is absolutely nothing as cute as a sloth.

I heard about that! Very exciting, since my choice would be a fox as well. An otter would be pretty fun too.

Crow or raven maybe, very smart birds. Maybe a chipmunk or a squirrel, too, so cute!
