Aftercare for waxing??

Contributor: SMichelle SMichelle
I've just had my first waxing experience at a salon. For my first time waxing anything, I chose to dive right in and have a Brazilian wax done. All in all, not too bad. It hurt, I'm a little red, and I definitely bled a bit from some spots...but not too bad. I'd definitely do it again.

Now.. my problem.

My waxer was a very sweet girl. Very nice to talk to, and she made me comfortable. That said.. she didn't really give me any tips on "after care". I'm a little worried about in grown hairs and all that, and the redness not subsiding.. She said it should go away on its own in a day or two, but that was about it.

So... anyone here familiar with waxing? What's proper aftercare for Brazilian waxes?

I just did a review on Simply Sensual After Wax and Shave powder but, I didn't use it for waxing. It's suppose to be really good to use as an after care to waxing. (Which I'm not brave enough to do!)

Maybe I'll try that for next time, but as it is I've already waxed. And I'm going out of town in 3 days, so.... well, ordering it now will do me no good for this time.

Anyone have any tips for this time?

Diaper rash ointment helps take away the redness, actually. Quick and easy solution!

If you lightly exfoliate the area, ingrown hairs should be less of a problem than when you shave. Not wearing underwear can also help, since you won't have material rubbing the area for the majority of the day, though that solution is not always practical.
