Aids Cure!

This is less a discussion and more of a celebration, I think. I'm so ecstatic about this; I just had to share it.

If everything checks out, and everything gets passed over there, how long do you think it'll be until it gets here? 5 years after it's cleared there?

*sigh* I want to believe this is true but a quick google news search of the Doctors name or the drug brings back nothing but that article.

I am worried about that too, but I'm trying to be optimistic here! Hopefully, it's simply because he's Norwegian and we're using the U.S. version of Google.

I'm going to keep my eye out for some later articles from him.

Plus, the press release came from the center this morning. They're a few hours ahead (7? or 9?) of the US. Perhaps it hasn't had time to circulate through the major news sources quite yet.

I think there would be more information about it, and it would be more widely spread if it were true. Things like that are phenomenal, global, and would spread like wild fire.

Aids will never have a cure if you ask me. I might be nuts but I believe fully its man-made by the fact it adapts so quickly to "cures" and spits them out. The only way to fix aids is to tattoo it on everyones head.
I read all the time "person with aids spreads to many as they can" and it disgusts me. If we just took some basic moral precautions we would have rid ourselves of it as soon as those people died.

Maybe I'm too much a downer, but I'm having flashbacks to I Am Legend, where they manufacture a cure for cancer and it winds out wiping out society.

I truly hope, wish, and pray that this does cure HIV/AIDS, and that it will save countless lives over the years, but until I see the repercussions a few decades down the line I'm going to be cautiously pessimistic.

I still can't find anything on the doctor cited or on the drug mentioned in the article, so if this is valid I hope the newspapers here pick it up.
