Anyone here to COSPLAY? If so, as WHAT? Anyone do STEAMPUNK?

I just heard about STEAM PUNK. I heard the name, just didn't know what it was. I have gone to some COSPLAY dress up events, but this STEAM PUNK seems SO cool to me!!!! They just spoke about it on the TODAY SHOW this Sunday.

I want to decorate my new flat screen TV with an antique BRASS BEZEL and have some steam engine parts poking out from behind it....a 1839 STEAM POWERED HDTV set!!!!

Anyone else enjoy this activity???

Steampunk is so overdone, most of us won't touch it with a 10 foot pole anymore.

I still like it. Even though it's mainstream now (which is what old fans complain about) I have my own little love affair with aspects of it. If you want a fun read try Gail Carriger's 'Parasol Protectorate' series - novels about wolves, vampires, ghosts, dirigibles, weapon-grade parasols, manners, and tea.

I'm planning on attending Ascendio (Harry Potter convention) as a steam-witch (witch who uses steam tech).

I'm more of a anime/video game cosplayer myself, but yes, I do cosplay!

I've been in love with the Steampunk concept since I was 9, especially the post-apocalyptic appearance. My boyfriend and I cosplay steampunk bounty hunters, and I have a gas mask, lacy bra, Victorian hat, petticoat, ect. I love the concept of how terrible and sooty everything would be, how there would be no modern science, everyone would have to stay inside because of the acid rain...

Sorry about the rant, steampunk was my first science fiction love

Vaguely considering cosplaying for Sakura-con next year.

More of a video game/anime cosplayer myself, but I've considered steampunk cosplays before. I'm debating overhauling a desktop computer in a steampunk-esque style.

I'm not into dress up. However, I would consider getting some stormtrooper armour and joining the 501st. They do terrific charity work.

A good friend of mine has his own steam convention, Teslacon. It's sold out the last 2 years.
