as stated in the first post, they are rarely deadly. the only time they kill people is when ZERO medical attention is administered until it is too late (5+ hours after bite)

Okay, I'll admit: if I suddenly saw that guy on my mouse, I'd probably jump. About the only time spiders scare me is when they startle me, and that would startle me.
I think spiders are fascinating, but if I come across one in my house, I will freak out and more than likely kill it if I am too afraid to capture it and release it outside. I feel terrible for it, but I will NOT risk getting bitten.
I found one hiding out in my hand towel. Luckily it didn't jump on to me when I tried to grab the towel, but uugghh. It looked strangely translucent and creepy and I thought it may be poisonous.
I'm not afraid of spiders, I just don't like them. I think they're icky with all those legs and jumpy and some are poisonous and I don't know where they've been. :p

Let me start by saying: I love spiders. I find them fascinating, and not nearly as scary as many other people make them out to be. They eat other bugs that are much more annoying, and whenever I find one in my house I simply release it, usually in some other area of the house. And they can be remarkably beautiful at times, or even cute! Just look at that face!
More than once I've considered getting a pet tarantula, so I could have the opportunity to study and interact with a spider more regularly. Call me strange if you must.
So the fact that arachnophobia is one of the most common specific phobias has always been somewhat puzzling to me. I'm not going to look down on anyone with a phobia (indeed, I myself am severely apiphobic - afraid of bees), but I still sometimes wonder how anyone could find spiders so creepy.
So I'm curious what the Eden population's overall opinion on eight-legged arthropods is. Do you love them, hate them, or feel indifferent towards them? Any cool or scary spider-related anecdotes to tell? Speak up and voice your opinion!
Note: you may want to take a look at my second post before voting, if only to be slightly more informed. And for my fellow spider-fans, I present this for your listening pleasure.
