Most of us here probably have at least some idea of what Roller Derby is. I went to my first bout last night and fell in love! LOVE I tell you! I haven't stopped talking about it since I got home last night. I also have been on the website for our local team and reading up on the players and figuring out when the next bouts are so I can go! My Mr is already saying, "Just try out!" Personally, I'm not in any kind of shape to compete with these tough ladies, but maybe someday! For now, I'm looking to volunteer at the bouts so I can get in for free! I even love the atmosphere there! It's just so laid back and fun!

Also, for me, watching a bunch of women skate around and knock each other around in a socially acceptable setting is kind of hot and totally awesome!

So what about you? Have you ever been to Derby bout? Are you a Roller Derby girl? Would you be? (I'm even opening this up to the guys who've been to Derby bouts to tell me what they think!)

Lol...other because I would LOVE to try it out, I love rollerskating and I think I'd enjoy it, - but I don't quite think I'm ready for it.

Across the board, contact sports don't sit well with me. I know there are people that get off on pain and the other psychological aspects of "whooping ass", I just can't imagine why they'd put their body through so much trauma at once.

A former Chicago Bears player killed himself Thursday and donated his brain for CTE research. It's so sad to think of all of the things that could go wrong.

I love, love, love roller derby!!!!!!! I went to a few bouts when I was younger and always watched on TV when I could. When we were little, my friends and I would pretend we were roller derby girls and try to whip each other around the rink, but would end up getting in trouble for it. I love to rollerskate, but do not think it wise with current medical issues to put myself though all that to try-out. It has always been a secret dream of mine to be a Roller Derby Girl!

I would love to throw some elbows! I was also better at rollerskating then rollerblading, it has been awhile since I've done either. I looked into joining a team that is sort of close to home. Then I found out one hard fall on my knee and would blow. I had a 4wheeler accident almost 7 years ago. Tournament womens boxing sounds fun too.

I have wanted to be a derby girl, but was deterred by my loved ones who know I will end up breaking bones in my body. I still would like to give it a try. I'd like to have really good insurance first.

I used to watch Roller Derby on TV a lot, and it was pretty entertaining. I don't think I'd ever actually do it, but it would be fun to go watch in person.

Definitely go see it in person. What used to be on TV was scripted a lot, like wrestling. But live, with local teams. Oh, it's awesome!

2 of my best friends are on a roller derby team, so I go to bouts all the time! If I had the time, and I was able to, I'd totally do it. I've seen the bumps/bruises/scars they come home with, and I can't afford to be out of commision due to an injury

Our area has a youth league. My eldest is about 6 years from being old enough, but I think she'll like it!

One of my goals as I lose all this weight is to learn kick boxing. Like, real kick boxing. Not that "cardio" crap.

I joined the team as a non-skating official (NSO). I love it so far! Excited to see if I get to NSO at the next bout Saturday! YAY!
