Are you more willing to read books with good covers?

I think when looking at books it's always the pictures on the covers that attract me most, even before reading the titles and if something looks interesting on the front I'm more likely to buy it. The same definitely also goes with magazines and if they have covers I don't like (ex. Miley Cyrus on the cover of cosmo) then I won't buy it at all.

I hate to admit it, but, yeah. I do judge a book by it's cover. I prefer simple, graphic designs over glossy, photoshopped-to-death covers too.

I tend to go by author or recommendation more than cover. It helps that I grew up on fantasy novels, which can have really hit or miss art on a great book

Guilty. Unless it's from an author that I already know I like or it's something we agreed to review, I *do* have a habit of judging a book by its cover.

I'm also guilty of that, yeah. Bright, crazy covers seem to attract me.

Yes and no...the cover may catch my eye, but I always flip through and read a few random pages to get a feel for the writing style.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to books, so if I don't care for the writing style they go right back on the shelf unless the story itself is something I usually like.

I notice myself more drawn in by beautifully written descriptive parts and use of unusual words than pretty cover art. ^_^
