I would love to do this but if I don't get him out of town his job will still be front and center. I have to get him out of the state so he can start to unplug!

I'd love to go to Italy or Greece, Selective Sensualist! Someday I want to take a cruise there to see them both. And Vegas, New York, Brazil, China, Australia, Quebec, Seattle... I could go on but my dream list is long!

the boyfriend and I are headed to Yosemite for some camping, hiking, and rock climbing. If I manage to get more time off (my boss = cranky) we're also going on a long weekend trip to Vancouver.

I have not made any plans yet for vacation. I will most likly take my kids camping at least once. Maybe a trip to the beach also. But with work being so slow, I do not want to miss too many days of pay. So maybe a bigger vacation next summer.

Yes, actually have two vacations planned this summer, which is very unusual. We are going to Mexico in June and then Southern California in August! She has never flown before and these will be very exciting destinations for her as they will be our vist vacations together.

I don't think we are doing anything this summer. It would be nice to go away for two or three days.

We take the kids to the local beach every year for a few days. We can drive there in a few hours and it's not too expensive.

I am taking the family to visit my wife's family on the East Coast (the Carolinas) at the end of May for two weeks and then at the end of July we are meeting up with friends for a week-long camping trip in a nearby state park. And my family always camps at the State Fair every year for the entire 10 days, although I usually have to leave during the week for about 4 days to come back to work.

We tend to do a lot of weekend camping trips as well during the summer.

We don't do the ISF. It's just not our thing.

Thanks. He's really excited about it. He should have been a carpenter. (Although he's a good Engineer, a very good engineer, so he'll be doing a lot of the electrical work as well as building.) They are going to drive and I really hope the church reimburses them for gas, as they are taking a couple of pick up trucks and the gas is so expensive.

I wish I could go, but it's a "Men Only Trip" as it is really roughing it (we are under the impression that running water and electricity is not reliable there) and the poverty on this reservation is intense. They want the woman and children to stay home. IMO, women and children live on that rez, and I think we (the wives) could certainly handle it and be of help, but I'll do what he thinks is best.

I am in a LDR and my boyfriend is will be visiting me in June for 2 weeks. It will be his first time in America so I will be playing tour guide and taking him to Philly, New York, and DC...and wherever else we have time to go.
I haven't seen him since December so I am little overenthusiastic.

We took a family vacation at the beginning of March so we dont plan on taking the kids on another vacation this summer. We do have a few camping trips planned for the summer. We are heading to northern colorado for a rafting trip in June with some friends and no kids. We usually like to take a short trip without the kids at least once a year.

Sounds exciting. We went to San Antonio a couple of years ago and I was so pissed we were there a week before shlitterbahn opened.

Going to go back to Disney. Being active military they give you a lot of discounts at Disney so it makes a very affordable vacation location.

Oops, I accidentally voted for two choices, one being yes and the other no. Haha. We're not going on a vacation this summer, but we'll probably do something around the end of the year.

Exploring the Florida beaches with the family and fiance, and then going down to South Padre Island to enjoy some more fun close to home I'm also probably dropping into Colorado Springs for a few days to go hiking!

I know. My partner is active duty and we could drive there in less than a day if we wanted to. And he loves Disney. I keep trying to get him to make reservations but I still haven't convinced him yet. I'm hoping he doesn't wait too long for us to book at the options we're looking in to.

We've been hit with too much hard luck lately to afford a vacation. But that's how it always goes for me. I have NEVER been on vacation, even when I was a kid. So hopefully some year soon, I can sneak one in! ;-D

I still haven't decided, because I'm changing jobs this summer and I might take the vacation in between.

We're heading down to Florida to see his parents. I so wish it was now since it's in the 40's and rainy here! Since we're hoping to move down there after I graduate this will be a test for us. I am not always the biggest fan of heat so being down there for a week in August will definitely be interesting.

May I offer my sympathies?

If you want an idea of what it's like here, microwave a wet sponge and stick it in your face and breathe. Now, imagine that you can't escape it.

You are now forewarned.

I said "other" because I suppose just going to a city four hours away for a few days wouldn't count as a vacation to a lot of people...but considering the fact that those few days are going to be for my best friend's wedding, I am TOTALLY STOKED. (And I'm a bridesmaid, for the first time EVER, so that's got me all excited too....LOL.)
