Online, I talk to most everyone, but IRL, I prefer to reserve my conversations to people I enjoy being around. Not that I ignore people I don't like if they are talking to me, just that I don't go out of my way to seek them out for conversation.

Online, yes. Out in the world, it depends on many things. My mood, the people, the setting. But if someone approaches me first, more than likely I don't mind as long as they aren't creepy. I found that being nice like that sometimes pulls the creepers in and that just makes me feel uncomfortable.

I prefer to talk to people that I know or have been introduced to - for some reason I don't have the skill or style to just walk up to strangers.

I'm more of a shy person so I tend to only talk to people I know. Then again, I'm not hesitant to say hello to people I see when I'm taking my dog for a walk.

I'm painfully shy, so I mostly talk to people I already know. Unless I really need something or someone new comes up to me first then I'll talk and try my best to come off friendly. Most of the time I don't though which is a bummer.

I don't talk to anyone but relatives. For example my husband & I have live in a house with 2 other people and we despise both of them. We avoid them and he is either out on the screened in back porch with his computer or up in our room with me. I like to be by myself so I stay in our room. We only live where we do because it is cheap and we have $300 left over to spend however we want to each month.

Online I will speak my mind to anyone.
In real life, I can be very, very social if the setting requires. For example, I coordinate volunteers for my local roller derby team. I have to talk to a lot of people, and at bouts/events I also handle the fans if other "in charge" people are not available.
If I'm drinking I'm highly social.
If I'm in a smaller group (less than 20-30) of people that I'm not too familiar with, I'm very quiet and reserved. I give off the impression that I'm not having a good time or that I'm a bit of a snob. While that's occasionally true, I have to get a good sense of the people I'm with before I unleash my personality. I never know if my humor will be well-received.
Sometimes I have a hard time being myself unless I'm super comfortable with someone.
