A lot of things hurt, but unless there's a ton of adrenaline circulating, it's incredibly painful!

I've broken several bones, and in each case was surprised it never hear more than it did. Since my fractures were all closed fractures, I would imagine an open fracture would be much more painful. I would have to give the pain from fractures a 5,,,where as a kidney stone is definately a 9.9!

I didn't even know I had broken my foot until it started to swell up, so for me there was no pain.

I've never broken any bones, but my boyfriend broke his arm when he was about 16 and he said he didn't know until the next day, it just felt sore but then he noticed it looked weird and had swollen.
He had a kidney stone once and the doctors said something like, "usually we'd ask where your pain is but we KNOW it's a 10."

It depends on the bone, whether it's a clean break, and other circumstances. It's generally approximately the same flavor of pain as a toothache, and it may or may not cause pain in surrounding tissue as well, depending on whether the bone is displaced, how much swelling, whether a splintered bit of bone is stabbing your skin from the inside, etc.

With adrenaline, it's usually a bearable sort of pain during a crisis, depending of course on whether the broken bone interferes mechanically with the function of joints, etc.

I was unconscious when my ribs broke in the car accident. But the pain for the next 3 months was unbearable--almost every rib on one side was broken and a couple more than once. I still hurt occasionally--but that is due to the crooked one.

It depends on the bone, probably, and how it's broken. I've never broken a bone, though.

each time yes I said each time... I've broken my wrists it didn't really Hurt the adrenaline fixes that. it is more of an odd feeling. the first time I broke my wrist; when ever I would look down at it my eyes would go blurry... My mom was all in a panic and I was just like um... its my birthday I wanna skate more... She kept repeating its in an S shape. My best friend was crying looking back it was quite funny. I got to ride in an ambulance and kept saying how nice the EMT's green eyes were. He gave me his medical sissiors I can honestly say my period is more painful.

I broke several bones in my foot, and for me it was about a 5 that faded in a day to about a 2. Of course, I didn't realize that they were broken, and walked around on them for a month before getting my doc to take a look at them. Oops? Yay for a high pain tolerance?

I fractured my wrist once, when I was about twelve. Right after it broke, I just sort of stared it for a moment before the pain really started to register... After that, it hurt like hell.

I actually didn't think of this before, but I guess the pain will differ on not only the person, but which bone was broken

I suppose it depends on the bone. I broke a collar bone. Didn’t hurt that bad, but it hurt.

I have a high tolerance for pain.
I did an excessive gym 'booty camp' and did not even notice I broke three toes until I looked down at my feet in the shower. (scary as all hell)

I have broken a lot of bones, and the pain really depends where it is broken
