Battle Axe Murder

I wasn't sure where to put this because it's not political nor about sex...

A man here in Iowa killed his mom's boyfriend with a battle axe. Here's the video broadcast from my news station.

Okay, so while this is tragic that a man was killed, and while this guy obviously has some issues, I can't help but laugh at the battle axe and the jokes that have flowed from this in my household.

*A whole new meaning to 'going medieval on yo' ass.'
*Did he get +5 magick?
*Could only HE see through the veil of deception with his magick ring?
*Did he play Stephen Lynch's D & D in the background?

And the nerd jokes go on and on here.

Am I alone in thinking this is somewhat hysterical? As I said, I do see the gravity in it, but it's the battle axe that just throws me into a fit of giggles. A gun, a knife, anything else and I wouldn't even be bringing it up, but a battle axe? And when he started collecting these things on top of being quiet and withdrawn, no one thought anything of it?

Okay, so while this is ... more
Hey now, I'm quiet and withdrawn by nature; lots of people are.

I also collected swords and axes and such, not to mention a fairly hefty collection of old military firearms at the moment.

Doesn't make us maniacs waiting to happen, pal.

I'm seriously not trying to offend, so I apologize.

I just really think the whole battle-axe thing is funny.

Don't worry, I'm totally with you on this. I mean, it's a pretty stupid weapon to use! No one has those, shouldn't he have used a kitchen knife or something?

My favorite of those jokes: "A whole new meaning to 'going medieval on yo' ass."

And CheerfulLoner, I know a lot of people who collect or would like to collect weaponry . I'd only be suspicious if the guy was leering at his wife whenever he put a new weapon on display or something

I didn't find it funny, but then many of the things that make me laugh leave other people scratching their heads. Humor is personal, to each their own.

Maybe he was an armorer. Or maybe he just figured it was the best weapon to use for decapitation... that's what all the cool kids are using these days.

No, he used the pointy end on the bottom of the axe to stab him several times and then hacked him with the blades.

I wonder if the axe was most handy because I would think that a broadsword would be more effective.

But seriously, the creepy part is that they found him just sitting in the house smoking a cigarette like nothing happened. They don't even know motive yet.

Remember, a battle axe doesn't have Reach, but it still takes up room to use. He was probably a regular 0 level human, hence not being able to use the imbued Zone of Silence.

He still doesn't get XP though...and is prolly Chaotic Evil.
