Battle of the systems!!!

Another techie question...

What is your favorite and what is your current or mostly used operation system?

I am a Win XP user, haven't tried Windows 7 yet, neither Linux (not best for gaming), though folks say that those two are way better, and I wonder if I should set a system up on one of my machines...

So, what do you lean towards the most?

I'm happy with Windows 7. It's not as perfect out-of-the-box as OSX was, but I've bent it to my will.

After having virtual desktops, I cannot live without them. Dexpot is awesome and brings that very well to Windows, but it does have a slightly learning curve to set it up, albeit, it's much easier in the new releases.

Windows 7 is... eh :/ I really like Linux and a lot of my friends use it. Like you mentioned, not great for gaming... but that's no worries because I use my xbox.

OS X & Linux are where it's at. Anything else is child's play and not near as user friendly or open source. Besides, who wants an unsecured OS with exposed back doors that is easily hacked? OS X makes up for over half of all industries now.

Windows 7, but I am the wrong person to ask about that. However my hubby is the person to ask. Computer nerd!

I use XP on my laptop and 7 on my desk top and I find myself leaning towards preferring 7 over XP now.

I used XP for a long time, and am now using 7. I'm pretty happy with it. My dad's more computer savvy than me, though. He uses Vista, but he's always reading about new systems and the like, so he may find something better eventually.

We did try Vista for a brief time and absolutely hated it. Never again!

i've only ever had vista & win xp on my laptop. it originally came w/ vista, & i never had any real problems w/ it. it crashed once, & the guy who fixed it put xp on there b/c my dad told him to. i don't hate it, but i actually preferred vista over xp.

1 laptop with Windows XP, 1 laptop with Windows Vista, 1 Mac Pro with...I don't know, whatever the latest one is, and a MacBook Pro with the same. I've used my mom's laptop though (she has Windows 7) and I can't stand it.

Windows 7 is way better than windows XP. I have 2 computers that uses windows 7 and one old laptop using windows vista. Vista is horrid! I play World of Warcraft, and the 64 bit client for Windows7 really reduces loading time.
From what I heard, windows no longer does upgrade for Win XP. I am not sure how safe it is to still run it.

It's easy to download Ubantu from their website. You can even install it through a USB drive. The next computer I purchase I plan on running Linux.
