I never realized there would be such a learning curve for using a smartphone. Mind you - I like what I got...I made sure it had a keyboard too since I hate touching the screen to type..but sheesh!

I am very not looking forward to the day where keyboards may not be an option anymore. Something that amuses the hell out of me though is watching my friends with touch screen phones try to touch the screen on my phone and have it not do anything because I don't have a touch screen lol.

What phone did you get?

My mom still doesn't know how to use everything on her smart phone and she's had it forever. She has the pull out keyboard as well. I prefer the touch screen, personally. I've had an iPhone since first gen so I've gotten so used to it now that I wouldn't want anything else.

I don't have a smartphone (can't afford it) but i have an iPod Touch and while I like it, I'm still the kind of person to where if I have a smartphone, i want to keep my phone separate from my music player and all, but it seems smartphones double as music players and other things which I find... unnecessary. I like my Touch, even though i have to find a WiFi hotspot to use it for online, but still, it's come through a lot, especially while at Jury Duty!

I have no clue about them, I still do not have one. I just got a new camera and am working on learning to edit videos. It was fun to do my first one.

See I agree. I love my touchscreen ipad but I HATE typing on it. I have a evo shift so I still have a full keyboard on my phone. I need it in my life, I just cant with the typing touchscreens.

I still don't have one, but I'm pretty sure the husband will get me one eventually because my Blackberry is pissing me off more and more lately.

A blackberry is considered a smartphone.

I don't have a smart phone, but my husband's tablet annoys the heck out of me b/c of the touch screen. I told him I'd rather just have his computer and keyboard to do my typing on. It's so darn hard to type anything on it especially with autofill. So if there's ever words on here that don't make any sense in context it's b/c I'm using his tablet and it autofilled for me.

Thing is, my phone is entirely touch screen. I can't stand phones with physical keyboards, the keys are way too small for my comfort level and I'm not too fond of typing with my thumbs. LOL

I've never had a smartphone, but I always thought they were designed to be easy to use?

I've used a crackberry for a while and liked it. Currently we're old school.....flip phone. The new phones look nice, but don't have much function in our life right now. Maybe next year.......

I haven't had an up-to-date phone in about 5 years. Honestly, I really don't miss it...I never go anywhere!

What sort of smartphone do you have?

I found the Android to have such a steep learning curve while the iPhone happened to be incredibly user-friendly. I'm incredibly upset to have found this out after I bought my phone!

I have an android. I love it. But at the store, they were trying to help me get it set up with my email account and every time I entered my password, I typed incorrectly or pressed a wrong key. I kept having to hand it back to him so he could bring it back to the set up screen.

Finally he offered to type it in for me but I insisted on typing it in myself.

Then he asked "Do you have a twitter account?" I said yes and he replied "You can set that up yourself."

Heh. I had super-plain pay-as-you-go cell for years - no camera or anything - because I only used it for travel. Finally decided about 6 months ago to just trash my house phone & have my cell as primary. And, yeah, I was totally overwhelmed for a while.

Android here. I don't do "i" things. I had originally wanted a physical keyboard, but once I got a chance to test out the Swype touch text input and found that it's actually really accurate, I was sold on touch screen.

I don't think I'm an annoying phone person. I shut it off or at least turn off volume, quite often. Don't talk in restaurants & all that. I'll go outside if I must take a call. So, I'm not rude, but I'm definitely attached to my phone, just because it's such an easy compact way to organize. I must have thrown out like 30 post-its around my house when I got the phone.
