During the summer, what bothers you more about being outside?

I rarely get bug bites but burn to a CRISP in as little as 15 mins. of unprotected sun exposure.

And none of that burning once then tanning the rest of the season, for me. I burn then go completely pale again.

But most of my friends complain much more about bugs.

I live in the south and mosquitos drive me crazy. I have a body that attracts them and I swell up from getting bit so I complain about bug bites more than sunburns.

bug bites...I don't like them. I tend to cover up so no sun burns for me. Plus I have dark skin. I don't burn.

Sun, I'm pretty pale so if I have exposed skin I'm pretty much inevitably going to get a sunburn, even if I use sunscreen. Bugs have never been as much as a problem, though they tend to be a little harder to avoid. With the sun I just generally end up wearing light long-sleeved shirts and long pants if I am going to be out in the sun for a while. It's a little warmer, but I am much more comfortable in the long run.

Living in Australia for 8 years pretty much kept my skin tanned all the time, other than the winter. But I would often get lightly burnt, and within a couple hours, or 1 day it would turn brown and be fine. So really Sunburn doesn't bother me too much.

But this last past summer, BUGS! Oh my god they were bad, we were camping out along the shoreline of Lake Superior up north and it rained during the first night there. The next day was incredibly humid and there were thousands of flies everywhere. Those little pricks were biting too. So even if you tried to go for a swim in the lake, if your neck and/or shoulders were exposed, they would land and bite immediately. That was not fun. So for me, bugs are the worst.

We had a Mosquito Magnet and that thing WORKED. Until the next season when it didn't work anymore, didn't stay on. Hopefully, it'll get serviced and come back out and work this summer. Because bugs are the worst, IMO.

I also burn and then go pale. I rarely have any "tan" line at all. But mosquitoes and fleas love me for some reason, so even though I burn SO easily, I hate the bugs even more!!!

im ight sensitive so the sun really messes with me not just ebcause i burn but it makes my eyes hurt and is end up seeing one solid color for days if in the sun too long

bugs drive me nuts. i don't burn too easily, & when i do, i peel just a tad, then it turns into a tan.

Luckily I have fairly dark skin, so I usually don't get sun burns. Although bug bites totally suck, I hate mosquitos and I have my fair share of bites in the summer in NC!

I have the same problem with sun burn in the summer. Very pale, and I never seem to gain any color, just burn very badly and go back to normal.

I never get a sunburn or a tan, for some reason my skin doesn't work like that. It really strange. The bugs love me, it is awful I have to go inside once they come out. I will be so covered in bug bites that it is ridiculous.

Sun. Bugs bother me too. But the sun is worse. Red hair, fair skin, even with sun screen I tend to burn.

I had the absolute WORST sunburn ever last year, it sucked.

Me and bugs are chill, but the sun hates me. I will burn in 10 minutes come summertime here in Mississippi.
