Car Wreck Injuries

Contributor: wrecklesswords wrecklesswords
In light of the car wreck I got in last night (don't worry, I'm okay, just bruised and sore), I want to know what the worst injury you've gotten from a car wreck is.

This was my first wreck in which I was the driver. A woman ran her red light going across when I had the green light. I t-boned her and spun her car. Luckily, I was in a 84 El Camino so the solid steel frame saved me from being worse off and the fact that I reacted so quickly (so the officer who saw it happen told me).

I really just have a really sore and bruised sternum and shoulder from where the seat belt caught me. My left hip and knee are bruised and hurt, too. I didn't go to the hospital though. Probably won't, either, unless this pain consists and doesn't go away naturally within a week or so.

So, what about you?

I have been in many, many (10+) care wreck ( not one of them my fault) and believe it or not, have not suffered anything more than a stiff neck. I am one lucky girl

I'm glad to hear you are mostly okay. Hope you get feeling better!

I've been in two minor accidents and had no injuries besides a little chafing on my neck/chest from the seatbelt.

I've never been in an accident myself, thankfully. Just almost-accidents. The most I got from those were a headache and some chafing from the seatbelt when the driver slammed on the breaks.

Partially scalped on the right side of my head, minor brain damage, impact related ADD, torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders, whiplash, torn lung, collapsed lung, bruised lungs, bruised diaphraghm, 5 broken ribs-two ribs broken in 4 places, torn kidney, torn spleen and herniated disk. I was not breathing nor did I have a pulse when the ambulance arrived. I am lucky!! I am still alive.

Take Advil/pain meds. Rest a lot. The bruising and aching from the seatbelt locking is going to hurt like a bitch. The back of your head will hurt from whipping back on impact into the headrest.

I have lower back issues from when a Volvo tried to get in the back seat of my Scion and crushed me into a Nissan. Loss of flexibility, loss of strength. Getting the muscles in my back to loosen up at the doctor's office was incredibly painful and I still have lingering tension - this was back in September, mind you.

You might feel shaken not stirred NOW but it's going to hit you like...well, like a vehicle soon.
